"Not listed" means we could not find the feature on Teachworks's public website on 8 October 2026. It may exist. We use "Not listed" rather than "No" so we never say a competitor lacks something we haven't seen them say. If anything here is out of date, email info@driveschoolpro.com and we'll correct it.

Where DriveSchoolPro differs

These are the differences that exist today, from the table above.

  • Built around the DVSA framework
DriveSchoolPro tracks the official 27 skills across 8 categories, so every instructor rates pupils the same way and pupils see their own progress. Teachworks offers general results tracking for grades and test scores.
  • Lesson prep written for you
Before each lesson, DriveSchoolPro writes a short briefing from your last notes and the pupil's skill ratings, using Claude. The AI we found on Teachworks' site is a support chat assistant.
  • Vehicle compliance, not just vehicle booking
Both check vehicle clashes. DriveSchoolPro also tracks MOT, tax and insurance dates with alerts, which we couldn't find on Teachworks' site.
  • An app for you and your pupils
DriveSchoolPro is on the App Store and Google Play: you run your diary from it, and pupils use the same app, or any browser, to see lessons and progress. Teachworks describes itself as web-based software, and we couldn't find an iOS or Android app on its site.
  • Review requests at the right moment
When a pupil passes, they appear on your Today screen with a Google review request ready to send. It's prompted, not automatic: you decide whether to send it.
  • Free while in early access
DriveSchoolPro has no subscription fee until 31 March 2027 and doesn't ask for a card. From 1 April 2027 there's a permanent Free plan (1 instructor, up to 60 lessons a month), Solo at £22 a month, or School at £22 a month plus £10 per extra instructor, with no VAT charged.

What DriveSchoolPro doesn't do yet

Teachworks has been around far longer and has a much bigger library of add-ons and integrations. It offers two-way Google Calendar sync, where DriveSchoolPro exports one way to your calendar. It sends reminders by SMS as well as email; DriveSchoolPro sends email only for now (WhatsApp is coming soon). We don't have a self-service bulk import yet, recording test bookings and results is coming soon, and we can't broadcast a cancelled slot to other pupils. If any of these decides it for you, that's a fair reason to choose Teachworks.
